A implantação da LABRE em Brasília está diretamente ligada à própria história da Capital do Brasil.
Nos idos de 1958, chegava a Brasília PY3AKG (PT2VE), médico e amigo particular de PY4JKO JUSCELINO KUBITSCHEK DE OLIVEIRA, eleito então PRESIDENTE DA REPUBLICA BRASILEIRA (1955/1960).
Instalando-se em um "barraco" na futura Avenida W-3 Sul, na quadra que seria, hoje, a SQS 704.
Nas exíguas instalações, instalou seu "shack", na ocasião composto de um equipamento "Geloso" 310 e um receptor da mesma linha, tornando-se, assim, o 1o radioamador a operar no Plano Piloto.
Pouco após, fixava residência residência no Aeroporto Provisório, local onde exercia suas atividades, o radioamador PY4AYC, LAURO SANTOS.
Na mesma época, instalavam-se na chamada "Cidade Livre", hoje Núcleo Bandeirante, os radioamadores, PY40Z, CHAFIIK ABIB e PY4UY, montando seus negócios comerciais.
Pouco mais afastado daquela cidade, com negócios de mineração, chegava o radioamador oriundo de Santa Catarina, Antônio Fiuza Lima que seria no futuro PT2UN.ília
DELEGACIA ESPECIAL DA PRESIDÊNCIA DA LABRE
Em 1959, o então Presidente da LABRE, PY1CQ – Cícero Barreto, entendeu de incentivar o radioamadorismo na futura Capital e, como era lógico, a instalação da LABRE.
Viajando a Brasília, PY1CQ foi recebido por PY3AKG – REMY, hospedando-se em sua residência, sita no acampamento da CAPFESP (Caixa de Aposentadoria e Pensões de Ferroviários e Serviço Público), casa n. 1, local onde viria a ser a SQS 104.
Resolveu o Sr. Presidente da LABRE nomear PY3AKG como Delegado da Presidência da LABRE com a missão de incentivar o radioamadorismo, criando condições para a organização da LABRE no Planalto Central.
A partir daí, começaram a chegar, em grande número, funcionários e comerciantes que aqui vinham instalar-se e, dentre eles, vários e entusiastas radioamadores.
Com o surgimento de diversas pessoas interessadas em tornarem-se radioamdores, o Delegado da Presidência, conseguiu, junto ao DCT, com a anuência do então Ministro de Viação e Obras Públicas, Dr Clóvis Pestana, a formação de uma banca examinadora.
Foram submetidos às provas 35 candidatos.
Começavam, assim, as condições para a formação da LABRE em Brasília Foram estes o verdadeiros pioneiros do radioamadorismo em Brasília

A FUNDAÇÃO DA LABRE NO DF
Reunidos nas dependências do "Catetinho", um grupo de 23 radioamadores, com a pesença do Sr. Presidente da República, Dr. Juscelino Kubtstcheck, PY4JKO (apenas início da reunião), no dia 27 de novembro de 1960, fundou a Diretoria Seccional da LABRE em Brasília.
A seguir foi eleita sua primeira Diretoria, ficando assim formada:

SEDE PIONEIRA
A primeira sede da LABRE em Brasília oi na residência de PT2VE, REMY FLORES TOSCANO, sita no Acampamento da CAPFESP, Casa 1, hoje SQS 104. A LABRE passou a ocupar uma das dependências da moradia, local em que passou a funcionar sua secretaria servindo, também, o local para as aulas de telegrafia, então ministrada por Pedro de Souza Maciel, PY2GAT.
A secretaria ficou a cardo de PT2VV, Irma Toscano.
